Products designed for these applications often need to meet the most stringent environmental requirements, such as water, heat, solvent, dust, and other contaminants. In many cases, they also need to resist high-strength impact and vibration, and require a long mechanical life. In the past six months, several switch and relay manufacturers, including knitter switch, EAO, electroswitch, ITT cannon and NKK, have launched new products that can withstand harsh environments.
